Diane Paulus was a toddler under the influence of her opera-fan mom and siblings who loved rock and roll when "Hair" first entered her life.
"I have an older brother and sister who I looked up to, and they played the Beatles and the 'Hair' album, and I loved the music. I used to sing 'Frank Mills' all the time, and I didn't know it was written like a letter to the editor. I was listening to that music when I was 2 or 3," said the director of the Tony-winning revival.
