BOISE -- Idaho state senators took up a measure that seeks to
nullify the federal health insurance overhaul, just over a week
after the bill cleared the Idaho House.
Sen. Monty Pearce, a sponsor, told the Senate State Affairs
Committee on Friday that the Democratic-led reforms passed in
Congress are a "giant step into socialism."
The measure would declare the reforms void in Idaho and return
federal money the state has received to start new health
