The city’s ambulance is equipped with high-priced GPStech, but their GPS only gives the FDNY the ambulance position, it does not give directions to locations of the emergencies to drivers. Though the GPS has cut 30-plus seconds off response times, it doesn’t help drivers navigate the streets.
